Avoid These Foods
- ANY processed food such as lunch meats, low fat or diet foods. These are often high in carbs even though they are “diet”.
- ALL fruits except berries.
- ANY food containing added sugar. Will discuss this in another article.
- Condiments. Most contain sugar or unhealthy fat.
- Sodas, even diet sodas, juices, smoothies, candy, desserts.
- Beans,peas and legumes
- Root vegetables such as potatoes, beets, carrots, turnips, etc.
- Grains, cereals and starches such as corn, oats, oatmeal, cornmeal, wheat, rye, rice, pasta, etc.
- Unhealthy fats, oils, salad dressings.
- Alcohol, esp. hard liquor. Alcohol is very high in carbohydrates and sugars.
- Milk. Milk is high in lactose.
